Students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak have achieved a remarkable feat by securing three medals at the European sports competition held from October 18 to 21, 2023, in Lloret de Mar, Spain. This event was organized by the students of Faculty of Organizational Sciences from Belgrade. Representatives of FTS Čačak participated in three team sports in the men’s category, earning medals in each of them - 1st place in basketball, 2nd place in football, and 3rd place in futsal. Among the 600 participants, FTS Čačak had the privilege of sending sixteen of its representatives to engage in their first-ever international sports competition. Additionally, students from other universities in Serbia also joined the competition.

 

 

Aleksa Miković, the captain of the basketball team that won the gold medal, underlined that this was an extraordinary experience for all the students, transcending the boundaries of mere sporting competition.

 

 

“Our students demonstrated determination and resilience, representing our Faculty and our country in the best possible way. In the final, we managed to defeat the team from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade, thus claiming the gold. I would like to thank the Faculty for enabling us to participate in such a prestigious event. This is not the end, as our team is preparing to win more medals!” said Alexa Miković, a student at FTS Čačak.

On behalf of the management of the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, the dean, Prof. Danijela Milošević, congratulated the students. She added that the management is proud of its students and that FTS Čačak is always ready to support students in their various activities.

“As the management, we take the immense pride in all our students who have achieved outstanding results. Besides the formal elements of education delivered through our academic programs, the faculty strives to support activities of a different nature, such as sports and cultural events,” emphasized Prof. Danijela Milošević.
