WPT Energy is a startup company launched with the aim of research and development of systems for wireless energy transmission of large power. The founders are Dejan Janjić, a student of doctoral studies and dr Branko Koprivica, associate professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak.
The development team, thanks to the results it has achieved in this area, received the support of the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, the Science and Technology Park Čačak and the Innovation Fund of Serbia.
After the evaluation within the program of early product development (Smart Start) of the Innovation Fund of Serbia, the team was awarded financial resources to establish a startup company.
A functional model of a device for wireless energy transmission was presented at the 66th International Technical Fair in Belgrade, within the stands of theScience and Technology ParkČačak and The Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak. In addition to others, the presentation was attended by the Minister of Science dr Jelena Begović, her expert team, as well as the Chinese delegation.
Also, during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Science and Technology Park Čačak, a presentation was made to the highest representatives of the Government of Serbia, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, as well as representatives of Čačak local government.
As a part of the first Serbian competition, supported by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, WPT Energy entered the top 50 by public vote as one of the best startups in Serbia. After a public presentation before an expert committee, it was selected from 24 Serbian startup companies that will represent Serbia at the Web Summit in Lisbon in the period from November 11th to 14th, 2024. In addition to the support to present itself within the Serbia Land space at the Web Summit, due to its innovative solutions in the field of electromobility, WPT Energy was also given the privilege to present itself within the Serbian pavilion at the Web Summit alongside the strongest Serbian companies.
In the following period, the expansion of cooperation between WPT Energy and the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak is expected, with the participation of the Innovation Incubator of the Faculty. The emphasis of cooperation will be on the promotion of technology and ideas that are being developed and on the realization of lectures and workshops with the students of the Faculty who are interested in working on their innovative ideas, launching their startups and finding ways to get support from the Innovation Incubator, Science and Technology Park Čačak and Fund for innovation activity.
